@Paul Osborne local issue for the local community, so I assume you will remove signatures/refunding donations on any petitions unless they’re from locals. @Lady jane I live in a village too, a little bigger than Little Mongeham, with an airfield a similar distance away. As there is a flight school there, it’s also far busier that this proposal will be (a student doing circuits will perform 5 take-off/landing per hour). It causes less noise than the A road 2 miles away, the sheep in field at the bottom of my garden make more noise. When I was at the airfield on friday the overwhelming noise was that of birds and the horses kept there, which the occasional brief aeroplane. Of all the things planned for the site, the least disruption will be from an airfield.

@Lady jane taking off yes, however there’ll be no need to overfly any of the local villages, the noise profile would be less than any farm equipment or even a petrol lawn mower and for less duration. They would put noise abatement over the villages, so no overflying. Maintenance, no noise.

@Paul Osborne if these thing have happened then these are the things you should be campaigning on then, not ridiculous claims of hundreds of flights a day and washing smelling of Av Gas

@Paul Osborne the closest houses I can see on google earth were approximately 700m away. What difference does it make if I’m from the area or not? I’m neither for or against the proposal, however GA in the UK could do with more airfields. Having a campaign based on falsehood does affect the whole community. An aircraft using this field make no noise when landing, if you were stood on the runway with your back to it the first thing you know about is when it hits you.

@Lady jane I don’t think anyone has a problem with the campaign against the airfield, the problem comes when presenting false information as fact to try and drum up support from those who won’t research the plan. For example I’ve read on here that there will be aircraft flying 45ft above roof tops. The houses closest to the centre line of the runway are over a mile in one direction and about 1/2 a mile in the other (assuming the aircraft will use the full available distance, which most won’t when using short field technique). A fairly normal circuit will enable no overflying of the local villages.
