Airstrip planning no. 21/00340 | Screening opinion - proposed creation of an airfield, ancillary buildings and glamping pods | Manor Farm Willow Woods Road Little Mongeham Deal Kent CT14 0HR
I just went on here this morning to register my objections, but this is what it says:
'The consultation period for this application has ended. Comments that have been submitted may be viewed within the list of documents for this application.'
I should like to know when the consultation period began? NO ONE knew of the plans until last Friday 16/04/21!!! Where were the notices? Where was the public consultation?
The planning states: There is no EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) required
HOW CAN THAT BE???
The latest update regarding the status of the application. This is from a very reliable source.
"The main application is now in but needs to be validated by Dover before they publish it. Then there will be a consultation period and you can object if you wish.
There is another prior application which is decided but this was what is known as a "screening application" to decide if an environmental impact assessment is needed.
Plenty of time to digest the plans when they come, be a good while before this goes to planning committee to be decided"
Hope this helps.

Hi Julia
As I understand it, DDC felt there was no need for an Environmental Impact Statement, which is, ludicrous. I have spoken to Chris Saville, who sits on GMPC and apparently this is under investigation with several parties including Natalie Elphicke, our esteemed MP. There will be lots of wild rumours flying about, including the fact that permission has already been given, hence the activity at Manor Farm. There has to be some platform for the public to have their say, otherwise the whole planning system is flawed, which most intelligent people realise it is anyway. I shall contact Chris, ask for clarification and feed back to this page.
It is terrifyingly close the situation Arthur Dent was presented with in the opening chapter of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
“But the plans were on display…” “On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.” “That’s the display department.” “With a flashlight.” “Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.” “So had the stairs.” “But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?” “Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”
