Isn't it a sign of the applicants desperation to have this development seen as environmentally friendly with the mention of new and innovative ELECTRIC PLANES, when these aren't commercially available yet and none of the members of the proposed incoming owners have one 🤔

A formal planning application for an airstrip on the land between Willow Woods Road,
Little Mongeham and Mill Lane / Coulson Grove, Northbourne has been submitted to DDC.
The application includes an airstrip, 2 hangars, 20 light aeroplanes, 10 glamping pods and helicopter access.
What do you think about it? Do you want it? Tell us here.

Looks to me like it's the press that has emphasised and prioritised the electric charging point idea, whereas the applicant has included it as "and are also fitting a charging point". Don't you just love the press!
But, the electric planes thing may not be that much of a pipedream, the Norwegian Govt have stated they want all internal passenger flights to be electric by 2030. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20180814-norways-plan-for-a-fleet-of-electric-planes
You're welcome. You can have my advice (spelt correctly) for free. I don't charge.
It's possible that ex Maypole aircraft may want to relocate elsewhere, but not guaranteed.
P.S. International Radio procedure requires that "over" AND "out," are never used together, despite what you see in the movies. They mean different things.
Over : "My transmission has ended and I expect a reply from you"
Out; "My transmission has ended and no reply is expected"
Every day's a school day,
You' welcome again xx
Well it is relevant ! Relevant because it’s highly likely the planes that were located at Maypole will be requiring new ‘permanent’ homes. And given your interest in the next generation of electric planes, coupled with your unfamiliar 2 visits to the maypole site, I’m sure you would have noticed and taken great interest if any were there!!!! Next time Andy, I will contact you directly when I’d like to know how to word a question!!! Thanks so much for your advise (not required by the way🙄😃) but thanks all the same. Over and out!👋
The original point was that electric aeroplanes don't exist commercially. They do.
Is electric aviation years off? Who knows, but given the pace of change it's important that any development, aviation, housing, farming etc. takes this into account.
This one seems to, which is right and proper.
Anything is possible Andy. But I think you are missing the main point. The land owner has submitted plans based on a ‘green‘ initiative. Electric planes are still in the very early stages of production. Yes, in years to come, they will probably be like the electric cars on the roads where they are more affordable. (Still never as affordable as a car that many can enjoy I might add!!!!) But the point you are missing is that is years off yet. The group on here, I’m sure, are not adverse to electric planes. They are all for ’green’ after all!!! But in the years it takes for the electric planes to be ‘common’, the residents, and those over the flight path will have to endure motorised planes coming and going up to 20 times a day. So like I said, if the landowner only accepts electric planes, I’m sure all would be fine! But that’s not going to happen as he would be running an airfield at a loss.
What a bargain! Don’t forget - it’s 185,000euro for a basic electric plane. Plus the extras :-45,000e for a fully operational cockpit and another 10,900 for a charger etc etc. Let me just reach for my pocket change to buy one, along with the remaining 31,000 other people in Deal and the surrounding area! Being that the landowners are so concerned about the environment as stated in their plans, I will look forward to reading that they will only accept electric planes to their site!
The electric plane talk is pure greenwash, they may be coming but they are many years away. One day electric may eventually dominate but to suggest this airfield is going to be used by them any time soon is absurd. There is just one electric Pipistrel registered in the UK and many thousands of combustion engine planes. Do you really think these other fuel burning planes are just going to vanish over night? Let's ensure this application is considered against the noise and pollution these will cause, not this distraction of electric planes which currently represent a ridiculously tiny minority of aircraft.
Actually Electric Light Aircraft are a reality.

That should say fauna not found! Auto correct on phone
It looks as though they fully expect to get permission as they have started clearing flora and found and created a large flat area by the farm already......
Yes. It is pure fantasy.
